Goal

Restore Git write capability for AIOS GitOps workspace.

Problem

ChatGPT Actions cannot commit new files because Git object database is not writable:

error: insufficient permission for adding an object to repository database .git/objects
error: Error building trees

Scope

Workspace branch:

patch/v1r4c1-review-risk-fixes

Affected path:

/data/aios-gitops/workspace/.git/objects

Execute

cd /data/aios-gitops/workspace

ls -ld .git
ls -ld .git/objects
stat .git/objects

ps aux | grep -E 'aios-gitops|model-api|actions' | grep -v grep

Identify the runtime user that runs aios-gitops-model-api, then fix ownership and write permissions:

cd /data/aios-gitops/workspace

sudo chown -R <runtime_user>:<runtime_group> .git
sudo chmod -R u+rwX,g+rwX .git/objects

Do not use:

chmod 777 .git

Validate

After repair, run a harmless Git write validation as the runtime user:

cd /data/aios-gitops/workspace

git status --short

test_file="ops/openclaw/.git-write-test-$(date +%s).tmp"
mkdir -p ops/openclaw
printf 'git write test\n' > "$test_file"
git add "$test_file"
git commit -m "Validate Git object write permissions"
git rm "$test_file"
